This is a circular walk of 6.5 miles to the summit of Moel Siabod from Pont Cyfyng near Capel Curig, via the Daear Ddu Ridge. The ridge scramble can be avoided by taking a slightly easier route detailed here.
The route begins with a short section of tarmac road, first along the A5 before crossing Pont Cyfyng onto a minor lane. Another minor lane leads to a wide stony track that eventually turns to a grassy, and in places slightly boggy path, before a fun grade 1 scramble to the summit via the Daear Ddu ridge. Heading north-east from the summit, the route takes you for a fun gentle scramble along the summit ridge, clambering over large rocks and descending to rejoin the track back to the car park.
The view of Snowdon from the summit of Moel Siabod is excellent, with the view over to the Glyderau and Tryfan also making the effort worthwhile.
Free parking at Bryn Glo car park, or in the nearby layby on the A5.
