This is a circular walk of 6.5 miles to the summit of Crimpiau, followed by a short loop around Capel Curig.
The paths are mostly in good condition, though the track to Crimpiau can get a little wet in places it is easy enough to navigate around. After returning from Crimpiau the route passes through some lovely old woodland, followed by a very short walk along the A5 to cross a footbridge into more woodland and forest. The path here leads to Llynnau Mymbyr, with fine views of Snowdon on a clear day. Another very short road section (no footpath here) and then a good track leads back to the car park.
The views from the summit of Crimpiau make it well worth the effort – Moel Siabod, Llynnau Mymbyr, Y Lliwedd, Snowdon, Glyderau, Tryfan, Pen Yr Ole Wen and Carneddau in one grand vista!
Free parking in Capel Curig. Toilets 20p, located between the car park and the Joe Brown shop.
