This is an 8-mile out-and-back walk to the summit of Carnedd y Filiast (Arenigs), starting from the north shore of Llyn Celyn. The walk is very easy from a navigating point of view; simply follow the track almost all the way to the summit. There is one fork in the track, where you need to bear left, and when the track does eventually run out it’s a short trek over the heather to the summit straight ahead (you’ll see it). The only other possibly tricky part is the Nant y Coed stream crossing, which can mean wet feet in the wetter months. It’s an extremely peaceful walk with spectacular views all the way, but requires a reasonable level of fitness.
